In Pierre Paulin’s living room
For winter 2019/2020, let’s go back to the 60s and 70s. Laurence Bossion invites us to the living room of Pierre Paulin, a great French designer, whose work was a first invitation to the “chill” phenomenon and enchanted the Pompidou generation.
The simple and generous shapes of the Mushroom, Tongue or Ribbon seats can be found in these winter hats that invite you to play. With their organic curves and clean lines, bibi balls and chubby capelines evoke modernism. The softness of velvet felts recalls the comfort of the sofas in which we liked to curl up.
The palette of warm red and ochre are accompanied by more pigmented tones, pink, cyclamen and cobalt blue. These colors plunge us into a Sixties lounge where the whole family watched together the cathode tube where Folon’s flying men were gliding.
